Lionel Messi perceived to be a ‘broken’ man and was sat by himself because the first image of the Barcelona captain in the room has emerged online.
Bayern Munich placed on a clinical performance against Barcelona on Friday as they dumped the Spanish side out of the Champions League with a surprising 8-2 win.
The German champions ruthlessly scored four times in either half as Messi and Co’s Champions League semi-final hopes were smashed to smithereens.
And now an image has surfaced online showing Messi, whose Barcelona future has been cast doubtful, sitting alone at half-time as Marc-Andre ter Stegen stands in the doorway.
Barcelona have reportedly already made their decision to sack Quique Setien, who was appointed club manager in January.
Barca sporting director Eric Abidal, who had a high-profile public fallout with Messi in Barcelona’s season, is additionally reportedly on the chopping block.
Gerard Pique has insisted that Barcelona have “hit rock bottom” and suggested the club isn’t on the “right path” after experiencing another humiliating Champions League exit.
The 33-year-old Spanish centre-back said after the match: “We have hit rock bottom.
this is not the primary, nor the second, nor the third time. We aren’t on the proper path.
“Coaches and players follow each other, but it’s been several years since we’ve been ready to be competitive on a european level.
“We all should think internally and choose what’s best for the club, for Barca. Tonight was unacceptable for Barcelona.
“It’s very hard to require but I hope it’ll be useful for something, for us to any or all consider it.
“The club needs changes. and i am not talking at the extent of the coach or the players, but structurally the club needs changes of every kind.
“We must usher in new blood to alter this dynamic, and if necessary, i might be the first to depart.”
Bayern midfielder Leon Goretzka also pulled no punches towards Messi as he delivered a brutal response about Argentine Republic superstar during his post-match interview.
